After 11 months of investigation, it was possible to dismantle in the municipality of Purificación, department of Tolima, the criminal structure called the Yayis, who would specialize in the sale of hallucinogenic substances in different modalities. The result was possible thanks to a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force and the National Police of Colombia.

This effort led to the arrest of eight alleged perpetrators, in addition to the finding of 36 doses of marijuana and a motorcycle that were apparently used for the distribution of narcotics in neighborhoods such as: El Triunfo, Villa Las Palmas, El Modelo, El Puerto, El Progreso, Santa Isabel, among others. The detainees were put into custody of the authority for the crimes of association to commit crimes, trafficking manufacture or carrying of narcotics and use of minors by the group for crimes.

According to information provided by the community, the individuals belonging to this criminal structure were allegedly using minors to carry out the commercialization of illicit substances in the municipality. So the authorities not only restore both tranquility and security in the sector, but advocate for the fundamental rights of children and adolescents.
