More than 18 schools and two foundations of people with special vulnerabilities participated in this itinerant park that, for the first time, arrived in San Andrés Island.
The Colombian Navy, through the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia, in coordination with the Society of Authors and Composers of Colombia –SAYCO- and the Departmental Government, arrived in San Andrés with the citizen culture mobile park in which more than 1,500 children, young people and older adults of the island participated.
In the city of Cartagena, on board the Ocean Patrol Ship ARC Victoria began this journey of unity and hope with the aim of generating spaces of integration that promote teamwork and healthy coexistence in the new generations, fundamental aspects to strengthen community ties and build a country.
This itinerant park, which has visited more than 22 departments throughout the national territory, was planted at the Erwin Oneil Stadium, with 15 stations aimed at strengthening citizen culture. Activities such as "Ubícate”, "Melodía”, “Saycoroke” and "Loturística" promoted the value of music as an instrument of inclusion and social transformation. In addition, 100 school kits and snacks were given to the participants.
The recreational-pedagogical activity in the same way had the support and accompaniment of the Military Forces, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing and the Ombudsman's Office, institutions working for with the wellbeing of the islands. This was said by Scarleth Rubiano, director of the SAYCO composes cultura program; “We are working together with the National Navy to bring a message of inclusion, unity to civil society, but, above all, that you can have faith in the future, you can live happily, with games and a lot of fun to educate you.”
Local art and culture took a special place during this activity, with presentations by renowned island artists such as Stanley Jackson and Joseph Dan. In addition, a specialized space was equipped for the elderly, who enjoyed activities such as dancing and karaoke, reaffirming the value of these meetings in favor of strengthening the social fabric.
