Thanks to the military operations in this region, the threat of a member of the GAO Clan del Golfo was neutralized and abundant war material was found.
In the framework of operations carried out by the Fourteenth Brigade of Colombian National Army, with the support of the Colombian Aerospace Force, against the different armed groups organized in the Northeast of Antioquia, troops report the death in the framework of military operations of a member of the Jorge Mario Valle Substructure, of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
The operation was carried out in the Providencia village, municipality of Anorí, where the troops entered a camp area used by that criminal structure. More than 1,400 ammunition of different calibers, 10 magazines, multipurpose vests, campaign equipment, camouflage fabric, scarves, tactical sweaters, camouflaged uniforms and bracelets alluding to said GAO were found by troops at the site. All this material was put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.
During the maneuver, three specialist soldiers were injured. They immediately received primary care of the combat nurse and were subsequently evacuated by air to the municipality of Caucasia, where they receive specialized medical assistance.
The operation continues with the deployment of troops on the ground and the support of artillery resources, with the aim of weakening the structures of the GAO Clan del Golfo and neutralizing its criminal operations in the region.
