There are 26 minors separated of the organized armed groups in Catatumbo. During the military operation, abundant war material and explosives were found by troops.
Troops of the 47th Ground Operations Battalion, supporting Operation Catatumbo, recovered two minors, including a 10-year-old, in the village 20 de Julio, municipality of Tib煤, Department of Norte de Santander, who had been recruited by the organized armed groups in this region of the country.
In addition, it was possible to find abundant war material, 3 small firearms, magazines and ammunition of different calibers, improvised explosive devices adapted to drones, as well as communications material and an immobilized vehicle.
Immediately, the minors were handed over to the Children and Adolescents Police, as well as to the Judicial Services Center for Adolescents, institutions that will provide the corresponding assistance. For his part, the arrested man was put into custody of the judicial authorities.
The above shows that these structures continue to generate anxiety and fear among the inhabitants, through the forced recruitment of children and adolescents, in violation of international humanitarian law.
