On the Pacific coast of Nariño, Military Forces and the DEA arrested an important drug trafficker requested for extradition

herculescaptura.jpg

This is alias Rolan, who went from scoring goals and being a professional football figure to managing routes and the tentacles of drug trafficking in the municipality of Tumaco (Nariño). The authorities accuse him of being in charge of distributing countless shipments of cocaine and hallucinogenic substances to the United States.

Within the framework of military operations framed in the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, units of the Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules, together with the Specialized Directorate Against Drug Trafficking of the Prosecutor's Office and the Drug Control Administration Agency of the United States DEA, alias Rolan, who would be an important drug trafficker in the municipality of Tumaco (Nariño), was arrested in the recent hours.

This individual, identified as Rolan de la Cruz Biojo, was requested for extradition by the United States. According to what was established, the today detainee was a well-known professional footballer who later became a naturalized citizen of Equatorial Guinea. There he played as a midfielder in different clubs of the country and came to represent the national team for the African Cup of Nations in 2012.

In 2013 and according to information collected by the Military Forces, alias Rolan contracted the malaria disease in Equatorial Guinea to which he survived, but his health and physical condition were not optimal again for a high-performance athlete. That's why his life changed and he decided to retire of the courts, return to Colombia and, according to the authorities, specialize in the criminal business of drug trafficking.

It was in the same way learned that alias Rolan, would be part of a transnational drug trafficking network, and would in the same way be working in a winery company where citrus fruits are stored and distributed to the municipalities of Buga, Tuluá and Caicedonia in Valle del Cauca. The authorities are investigating whether this company would have any link with his criminal activity, since the arrested man would be using these warehouses to carry out shipments of cocaine and hallucinogenic substances, which would be camouflaged in the fruit pulps that they handle there, and then commercialize them to North America. He was in the same way being sought by the US authorities, due to the continuous shipments of narcotics sent to that country.

The former footballer had a valid arrest warrant and an extradition request of the United States District Court of Texas, note 1157 of July 19, 2022, being sought to appear at trial for crimes of illicit drug trafficking and association to commit crimes.

Alias Rolan was a professional footballer between 2005 and 2013, where he played for teams such as Deportivo Pasto, Deportivo Cali, Independiente Santafé, Cortulua, Árabe Unido of Panama and The Panthers of Equatorial Guinea.

With this result, the Military Forces, through the Joint Task Force Hercules, deal a strategic blow to the criminal and logistical networks specialized in drug trafficking on the Pacific coast.
