So far this year, our soldiers have recovered more than 25 specimens of wildlife, contributing to the care and protection of the Colombian Amazonas.
Within the framework of the National Army's Amazonas Plan, our soldiers of the Combat Engineer Battalion No.12 in coordination with the National Police, through the raid of several houses in the municipality of Florencia, Caquetá, it was possible to recover more than 10 specimens of wildlife.
Four turtles, two crowned parrots, a macaw, a charapa, a Lowland_paca, a Capybara, and a blue tingüa, a specimen that is on the way to extinction, were found by troops at the site. Once the animals were recovered, they were put into custody of Corpoamozanía, for the review of their state of health and later return them to their natural habitat.
It should be mentioned that the trafficking of specimens and the illegal possession of these wild animals entail sanctions by the authorities.
