The General Command of the Military Forces, in relation to an alleged event that occurred in Remedios, Antioquia, clarifies:
1. As it could be established by the facts exposed on social networks, the place mentioned (rural area of Remedios, Antioquia) does not correspond to the place (rural area of Santa Rosa del Sur, Bolivar) where the previous week was killed in military operations alias Visaje, the main ringleader of the José Antonio Galán Front of the Eln, who had a criminal experience of more than 13 years.
2. The legitimate operation of the Military Forces against this criminal structure, where the threat of this individual was neutralized, was framed under the corresponding principles in order not to put the lives of civilians at risk. This individual was armed and with other members of his criminal organization, planning extortion activities, homicides, terrorism, drug trafficking and illegal mining.
3. The military operation was carried out by members of the Military Forces with the support of the National Police, highly trained and prepared for these operations, who did not use explosives or grenades in the execution. Once the combat was over, the urgent operations were carried out by the authorities and the troops proceeded to leave the scene of the events without any incidents or loss to the Human Rights of the inhabitants.
4. No authority in the area has formally reported any action where the good physical condition of the people had been disturbed in this military operation.
5. The military forces will continue to protect the life and good physical condition of Colombians, under strict compliance with the Constitution and the Law.
