Troops of the Buenaventura Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in interagency operation with the Technical Investigation Corps of the Prosecutor's Office and Unipol, obtained the arrest of five members of La Local Group, Los Espartanos substructure.
Through simultaneous search operations by court order carried out in the Muro, Yusty and Locality 4 neighborhoods of Buenaventura, the arrest warrants for the crimes of association to commit crimes for extortion and theft purposes were made effective.
It should be noted that those arrested are alias Mi Cali, who serves as the ringleader of the group Thefts at Sea, alias Morro, Bolita, Ronald and Veneco and were under the criminal command of alias Blacking, in charge of kidnappings and collection of money from extortion against the different productive groups and merchants of the region, as well as selective homicides, thefts at sea and forced displacement.
During the operation, five cell phones, a point-to-point communications radio and war material were found by troops.
It should be noted that this Gaula Buenaventura unit in other tactical missions had made the arrest, in the Alberto Lleras neighborhood, Locality 3, of an individual of the same criminal structure known as alias Harrison to whom several kidnappings in the area are attributed.
In the same way, in the urban area of the municipality of La Unión, Valle del Cauca, in another operation arrested alias Ronald, who belongs to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, front Ernesto Che Guevara, who was wanted by the Colombian justice for the crimes of simple kidnapping, forced displacement and aggravated homicide.
With these results, the activities of criminal organizations are significantly hit, while peace of mind is restored to the community.
