As part of the Colombian Navy's commitment to strengthening international cooperation and relations with countries that have work in the Pacific Ocean, we participated in edition No.28 of the RIMPAC - Rim of the Pacific - naval exercises, which took place from June 29 to August 04 of this year, in the United States.

A group of the Colombian Navy, under the leadership of Vice Admiral Francisco Hernando Cubides Granados, Commander of the Pacific Naval Force, was part of the General Staff of this international naval training operation, in which the Navies of 25 countries participated with more than 20,000 military units, which puts us at the level of the United States Navy, is a sample of confidence in the professional capacity of our Officers.

These naval exercises, which are considered the most important in the Pacific region, are carried out in the vicinity of the island state of Hawaii in the United States and aim to promote regional stability; in the same way, promote cooperation and multinational confidence, in addition to improving the interoperability of the different units of the participating countries.

With this operation, the military Forces related to humanitarian assistance, maritime control operations and complex naval operations in the areas of anti-submarine warfare, surface warfare, anti-aircraft warfare and amphibious operations are strengthened.

WHAT IS RIMPAC?
