San Vicente del Caguán, Caquetá, June 19, 2022. The command of Joint Task Force Omega informs:
1. According to first information, troops of the Specific Command of the Caguán that provide security in the Campo Hermoso village of San Vicente del Caguán, Caquetá, were attacked, and Soldier Erick Enrique Estrada López was killed.
2. In the reaction of the troops it was possibleto the arrest of the two individuals who committed the attack, who were injured and, in cases of violation of their human rights, first aid is provided to them by combat nurses.
3. At that time, the arrival of an aircraft is expected along with the judicial authority in charge of carrying out the urgent acts and in the same way being able to evacuate the injured to receive medical assistance.
4. The individuals, who apparently belong to the dissidents of the FARC, and the two weapons found will be put into custody of the competent authorities to continue with their respective judicial process.
5. Joint Task Force Omega will continue to stand firm in its mission to protect civilians and work to protect their rights, in compliance with the constitutional mandate.
6. We pray to the Almighty for the eternal rest of our murdered soldier and we send a heartfelt message of condolences to his family, partners and comrades.
