Among the foreigners there are three minors, two of Peruvian nationality and one of Venezuelan nationality.

In the course of patrolling and maritime control operations on the borders with Panama, the Colombian Navy announced the interception of a ship piloted by two individuals of Colombian nationality who were illegally transporting 13 migrants in the Urabá region, in the department of Chocó.

The event occurred when the Caribbean Naval Force, through a Rapid Reaction Unit attached to the Urabá Coast Guard Station, detected a suspicious ship that apparently intended to cross the border illegally. Upon realizing the work of the authorities, they started to escape, and immediately a chase began at sea, and the interception of the boat one nautical mile of the municipality of Sapzurro, department of the department of Chocó, took place.

Once the crew's health status was verified, it could be established that 11 people of Venezuelan nationality were on board, including a minor and two minors of Peruvian nationality. The foreigners did not have the documentation to prove their entry into the country.

The crew of the Urabá Coast Guard Station, fulfilling the mission of safeguarding human life at sea, proceeded to transport the foreigners safely to the Sapzurro Post, in the department of Chocó, where they were put into custody of Migración Colombia. The boat was immobilized and handed over to the local authorities, while the two Colombians who were piloting the boat were put into custody of the Acandí Prosecutor's Office for the alleged crime of migrant trafficking.
