In compliance with the Bicentenary Campaign Plan Héroes de la Libertad, the Joint Task Force for stabilization and consolidation Hércules, in operations conducted by the National Army and the National Navy, coordinated with the National Police and inter-institutional with the Attorney General's Office, managed to hit the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Franco Benavides structure, which commits crimes in the Nariño region in the Pacific, with the arrest in flagrante delicto of two alleged members and the surrender to justice of this criminal organization.
Thanks to the military intelligence operations, two individuals accused of participating in the murder of a man inside a discotheque in the municipality of Santa Bárbara de Iscuandé were identified and arrested in flagrante delicto and taken to the municipality El Charco, Nariño, for prosecution. In the operation it was in the same way possible to find a revolver-type handgun.
On the other hand, it was possible to bring to justice alias Emanuel or El Flaco, who would belong to the same organization. The individual will initiate the procedures corresponding to this process in accordance with decree 965 of July 07, 2020.
With these results, troops managed to strike the armed component of this criminal organization responsible for homicides, criminal acts and confrontations with other drug trafficking structures.
