In Panama City, was held the XLI System Committee of co-operation of the Air Forces of the American continent -SICOFAA from 7 to 11 of February of 2022, which was attended by 14 Official delegates of the Air Forces of the continent that make up the system, with the purpose of making the conference final planning of the Cooperation Exercise VIII–Virtual, to be held from march 28 to April 08, 2022, in the city of Mendoza, Argentina.
The primary objective of this exercise is to formulate and carried out environments in which vulnerable inhabitants and infrastructure are hit by extreme natural phenomena and that make it necessary to implement a combined doctrine through intervention, integration and the use of the Resources of the air forces that act as cooperators within SICOFAA.
The importance of this meeting and preparation resides in the review and revision of the commitments and procedures of the simulated environments for the deployment of personnel, humanitarian support, combined air operations conducted by two or more air forces, tactical missions to rescue personnel, transportation of personnel, cargo and equipment, evacuation and transport, aero-medical, among other missions, to provide support in the emergency caused by the effects of nature.
In addition, this meeting was used by delegates to address other aspects of interest in the areas of operational safety, use and deployment of medical and health personnel, as well as the use of space assets which will lead partner nations to compromise their space Resources.
In summary, the air forces contribute decisively to the response of States to this type of natural contingency and emergency, in a timely manner, with a regional, hemispheric and global approach through the integration of Resources at the service of States and their people, in the face of natural phenomena of greater magnitude and frequency.
