Colombian Navy troops, carrying out joint and coordinated operations in the department of Putumayo together with the National Army, the Colombian Air Force and the National Police, find machinery used for the illicit extraction of mining sites and capture five people, apparently Farc dissidents and currently members of the Organized Armed Group Estructura primera Carolina Ramírez that commits crimes in this region of the country.
The operation was conducted on the Caquetá river near the sector known as Santa Maria, l-municipality of Puerto Leguízamo - Putumayo, where the men were located; the troops destroyed three floating devices, type dredger, composed of three engines without a serial number, 15 metres of hose and three bases, which had the capacity to extract approximately 375 grams of gold per month, equivalent to 45 million pesos.
In addition, it was possible to capture in flagrante delicto five individuals who make activities of exploration and illegal exploitation of minerals, without having the respective environmental licenses to carry out this type of activities, thus violating article 159 of Law 658 of 2001.
Those captured and the material found were given to the authorities.
