A new feature will be in charge of the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance tasks of the Colombian Air Force throughout the country's territory, with the purpose of planning decisive operations to provide fundamental support against existing factors of instability.
This new Colombian system was developed in 2018, with the objective of fulfilling tactical missions, but above all it stands out for being the first aircraft to have design, production and development, completely with national talent by the Colombian Aeronautical Industry Corporation.
Some of its characteristics are easy ergonomic transport, five-piece assembly, portable ground control station, and an electro-optical sensor for day and night operations, as well as its hand launch method.
This unmanned aircraft was visible at Expodefensa 2021, an international fair held in Bogotá, where it obtained a space to publicize this important science and technology innovation, in terms of security and defense of the Nation. On the other hand, Coelum made its first flight in the capital city of Valle del Cauca, within the framework of the I Junior Pan American Games 2021, a sports event that brings together hundreds of young athletes from different countries, using all this technology to make images during this important event.
With the acquisition of these new aircraft, the Colombian Air Force is undoubtedly consolidated in the opportunity to increase operational Resources in coordination with the other Military Forces and the National Police.
