This year, the Colombian Navy has found 148 tons of cocaine hydrochloride, 60 have been found in the Colombian Caribbean.
The Colombian Navy, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, managed to deal a serious blow to the criminal structures who perpetrate drug trafficking and the sale of illicit substances in the Albornoz neighborhood sector, in the urban area of Cartagena.
In a decisive operation led by the Colombian Navy through the Cartagena Coast Guard Station and the Caribbean Naval Commandos Group, in coordination with the Attorney General's Office, it was possible, after review and follow-up, to find a hideout of merchandise in which drug trafficking organizations had hidden 2,314 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride inside.
The integration of the authorities’ operational resources led to this important operation, finding a hideout in which most polyethylene merchandise was stored and finding inside 2,368 rectangular packets of illicit substance, which were tested for Preliminary Identification (PIPH), leaving positive result for more than two tons of cocaine hydrochloride.
The material found was put into custody of the Office of the Attorney General of the Cartagena Section. No arrests were made during the operation.
