Defense Minister, Diego Molano, arrived in the afternoon today in the city of Cúcuta where a terrorist act against the 30th Brigade of the National Army was reported.
“The Military Forces must be respected, scoundrels who try to harm our soldiers will pay, decisively we will find all the culprits,” Minister Molano said.
According to the first hypotheses, a white van would have entered the military installations with individuals who would have posed as public officials. At 3:10 p.m. the first explosion was reported and two minutes later the second explosion occurred seriously damaging facilities, 36 people were injured; 2 are civilians who are out of danger; 29 members of the Military Forces are being assisted in health centers and 3 have clinical critical conditions.
“I am with them, we stand firm, nothing and no one frightens the Colombian Military Forces. We will continue to watch over the defense and security of Colombians,” Molano emphasized.
The Prosecutor's Office is at the scene of the events conducting the investigations that lead to establish those responsible for this attack.
