Heavy blow to the finances of the residual GAO Tenth Structure
In the first military territorial control operation carried out at a checkpoint coordinated with the Fiscal and Customs Police in the municipality of Arauca, a Venezuelan was arrested, who was transporting 10 plastic containers with a capacity each to store 55 gallons of diesel in three motorcycle-car type vehicles.
When the military units verified the merchandise, it became evident that it did not have the corresponding documentation for its legality and it was verified that it was brought from the neighboring country of Venezuela.
In the second operation, thanks to intelligence work, an illegal fuel hideout was found in the municipality of Las Plumas, municipality of Arauca. At that site, 40 more containers were found by troops that in the same way contained diesel.
These containers with a storage capacity of 55 gallons each, are valued at approximately more than 14 million pesos and would be used as a method of financing for the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Estructura Décima, Martín Villa.
The individual arrested, the three vehicles and the barrels with diesel found in the two military operations were put into custody of the authorities for prosecution.
