In the course of a military operation of territorial control, a man of approximately 40 years of age, who was being deprived of his liberty in the municipality of Puerto Asís, department of Putumayo, was rescued by pressure from the troops
The victim, who was on his way home in his car, was intercepted by three individuals traveling on two motorcycles without identification plates. These individuals crossed him a few blocks from his final destination, and two of them approached the vehicle to threaten him with death.
People who were near the scene immediately called troops of the Artillery Battalion No.27, attached to the Twenty-Seventh Brigade, who were near the place, to warn about what was happening. Immediately, the nearest troops began an operation to achieve liberation.
While the transporter was forced to deviate from his course towards the foothills of the Putumayo River, the troops followed them, and when they reached the river, they realized the presence of the troops and, by pressure, they were forced to get out of the car, flee and free the transporter, who was tied from hands and feet.
After confirming that the released one was in good health, he was taken to military facilities, to conduct administrative acts and file a denunciation with the military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and other authorities.
Although there were no capturees, Artillery Battalion troops continue to conduct military operations in the area to find those responsible for this crime. In the same way, they gave notice to the National Navy, which has control over the river.
The Brigade 27, through its tactical units, continues with the neutralization of behaviors that violate the fundamental rights of the inhabitants in the region, and will continue to in the defense of the sovereignty and wellbeing of the national territory and the constitutional order.
