Six laboratories for production of coca base paste found in Southern Meta

The operation carried out by the National Army in the south-east of the country counteract the criminal activity of the residual organized armed group, Gao-r, First Structure, with the destruction this year of 150 laboratories.

Once again, the troops of the Fourth Division of the National Army in Guaviare and southern Meta, in the framework of Operation José Inocencio Chincá, manage to strike the residual organized armed group, Gao-r, Estructura Primera, by destroying six laboratories for the production of coca base paste, which contained approximately 37 million pesos in solid and liquid precursors and machinery.

The soldiers of the Jungle Brigade 22, in the execution of the military operation Jubileo, came to the sector known as The Yuquera, in Barranquillita, the municipality of Miraflores, where they found two structures made of wood, 40 and 63 square metres, with 487 gallons of liquid precursors, and 375 kilograms of solid precursors, in addition to the materials and equipment necessary for their processing.

In these laboratories, members of the criminal structure would be producing 110 kilograms per month of coca base paste, which would have a commercial cost of 308 million pesos.

In the same way, in the Guanapalo, San José del Guaviare, thanks to information provided by military intelligence, troops found another structure in wood with plastic roof of 150 square metres, with 161 kilograms of solid precursors, and 8.7 gallons of liquid precursors, which would be producing 60 kilograms of coca base paste; this laboratory would produce monthly approximately 168 million pesos, through the marketing of the drug.

Similarly, the soldiers of Brigade 22 reached El Olvido, in the municipality of Mapiripán, Meta, where they destroyed a wooden structure with a zinc roof, 30 square meters, which stored 245 kilograms of solid precursors, 30 gallons of liquid precursors and their respective machinery for production, with a capacity to produce 40 kilograms of coca base paste, that would cost 112 million pesos.

On the other hand, in the sector known as La Milagrosa and in the sector Barranquillita, in the municipality of Miraflores, were dismantled two other laboratories in which troops found 250 kg of solid precursor and 237 gallons of liquid precursors and fuel, as well as the machinery used for the processing. The laboratory would be producing approximately 100 kilograms of base paste of coca, equivalent to 280 million pesos.

All these labs were destroyed under control conditions by the troops.

Colombian National Army strikes the finances of the residual GAO Structure Primera, thus preventing these laboratories of coca base paste continue to be a source of income for the GAO, which will no longer receive monthly approximately 890 million pesos.

The destruction of these precursors significantly hits the business of illicit drug trafficking and illegal activities in this part of the country. The production of narcotics can be transported across the Guaviare and Inirida rivers to the border areas and different regions of the country.

This year, the troops of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade have managed to find and destroy 150 laboratories for the production of coca base paste, with more than 40 tons of solid precursors and more than 16,000 gallons of liquid precursors, and some 7,000 kilograms of coca base paste, that would cost approximately 22,000 million pesos.
