Troops of the National Army have repeatedly engaged firefights against different outlaw organized armed groups, with significant results.
In military operations, troops of the National Army, in coordination with the Colombian Air Force and with the support of the National Police and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, attending to the recommendations of early alerts No. 009 and 028 of 2018 and 020 from 2019, in an operation in the lower Cauca region in the department of Antioquia, neutralized an individual who apparently was a member of the organized armed group Los Caparros. In the same way, troops captured two criminals who were allegedly members of this criminal structure. Troops also captured two other individuals said to be members of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
The military operations that were carried out thanks to the information provided by the Civic Participation Network, led to a permanent presence of the soldiers, who in the neighborhood of Puerto Bélgica, in the municipality of Cáceres, in Antioquia, fought with criminals of the GAO Los Caparros, where an offender died; he had a long range weapon, war ammunition, and communications and military accessories.
In the second military operation carried out on La Linda village, in the municipality of Tarazá, in Antioquia, Army troops engaged combat with the organized armed group Los Caparros and captured an individual recognized as alias “Buenaventura”. This individual had with him a long weapon, a grenade, and military accessories; subsequently, he was put into custody of the authorities, who ordered a judicial measure in prison.
In another military operation carried out in the same village of La Linda, Army soldiers fought with the organized armed group, GAO - Clan del Golfo, and captured 2 suspected individuals, who had 3 rifles, 11 magazines, ammunition for them, and war and communications materials. The individuals were put into custody of the authorities, who ordered a judicial measure in prison.
The troops who are guaranteeing security in the sector known as Guaimaro, in the municipality of Cáceres, in Antioquia, where they fought with a criminal structure of Los Caparros, and captured a man who was known as El Mono, who had with him a long range weapon with a magazine, war ammunition and military accessories; he was put in to custody of the authorities.
