This criminal structure is responsible for the criminal operations in this area of the department, which generate anxiety in the inhabitants. During this operation, two individuals accused of being members of this armed group died.
As a result of the ongoing operation within the framework of territorial control operations carried out by the Military Forces in the department of Cauca, and in response to the recent criminal operations carried out by organized armed groups, National Army troops in conjunction with the Aerospace Force neutralized the threat of two individuals accused of belonging to the FARC dissidents, Carlos Patiño structure in fighting that occurred in the village of Los Pinos, municipality of Argelia.
After military intelligence work, the members of the Military Forces arrived at the place used as a camp by members of that criminal structure and place to execute operations against the Military Forces and the inhabitants living in the sector. At this point the fighting against this structure took place, which resulted in the death of two individuals in the framework of military operations.
In this event, other individuals were also injured during the confrontations, a situation that is being verified through the operations in the area. Similarly, in these events, two soldiers were injured after the activation of a minefield, installed by this gang to prevent the advance of the operation.
They were immediately evacuated to the city of Cali, where they are receiving medical assistance due to the shock generated by the blast wave of anti-personnel mines. Both members of the Military Forces are out of danger.
With this result, the logistical and armed subsystem continues to be weakened, as well as the command and control of this criminal organization that has the individual known as Kevin as its main ringleader.
On the other hand, in a preliminary way, we have the report of operations in the rural area of Suárez, in the north of Cauca, where members of the FARC dissidents Jaime Martínez structure have been carrying out criminal operations. According to intelligence reports, three members of this armed group were reportedly killed during the military operation, information that is being reviewed.
The military operations have been carried out jointly and inter-institutionally with the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Attorney General's Office.
