In military operations carried out by the National Army, in coordination with the National Police and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, the search warrant on a house was obtained, capturing in flagrante delicto a man known by the aliases “Carlos”, “Metralla” or “Matraca”, 30, who would be the chief of finances and ringleader of the Eastern War “Front José Adonay Ardila Pinilla” of the Organized Armed Group Gao - Eln.
Thanks to the permanent work of the military intelligence, during five months work was carried out by the troops of the High Mountain Battalion No. 2 “General Santos Gutiérrez Prieto”, of the First Brigade, establishing the last movements of this individual, by the limits of the departments of Boyacá and Casanare.
Once the place was identified, contact was made with the troops of the Eighth Division of the Army who facilitated this deployment on the Chinivaque village, in the rural area of La Salina in the department of Casanare. At the time of the capture the ringleader was with another individual apparently member of the terrorist organization and a minor.
At the time of the capture troops found important war material and military garments represented in long-range firearms, short range weapons, ammunition of different calibers, military garments of exclusive use of the security forces and two motorcycles that apparently would be reported as stolen and were being used for the collection of extorted money.
The two captured and the war material were put into custody of the authorities who made the respective hearings of legalization and imputation of charges. In the same way, the minor was handed over to the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute.
