The Colombian Navy in the Colombian Pacific, answered the call of the crew of two ships that were left adrift due to different damages in their engines, rescuing them and putting them safely, in the departments of Chocó and Valle del Cauca.

The first call for help was received by the Coast Guard Station of Bahía Solano by telephone. The fishing ship 'BT Pescador', which had sailed with five crew members from Bahía Solano to carry out fishing works in Bahía Cupica, and unexpectedly its engines had problems and they were adrift for four hours.

Immediately the situation was known, the Coastguard Units moved to the area and after checking the status of the crew, supported the boat, towing it to the tourist dock of Bahia Solano, where they could solve the situation.

In the same way, another telephone call from some rudimentary fishermen who had been left adrift, in the mouth of the San Juan River warned the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura on the situation. The two fishermen, an adult and a minor of 17 years, had sailed at the municipality of Juanchaco, when the boat experienced a damage in the engine, after a few hours of trying to fix it without success, they contacted by phone to ask for help.

The Coastguard Unit got the area of Buenaventura where it carried out maritime control operations, and found and towed them to the municipality of Juanchaco, where they solved the inconveniences of the boat.

This year, the Pacific Naval Force has rescued 113 people alive who had suffered emergencies in the Pacific Coast.
