In a demonstration of preparation and collaboration, the Maintenance Air Command led an air accident simulation in close collaboration with the Municipal Risk Management and several external relief agencies in Madrid – Cundinamarca. This exercise, designed to evaluate and improve the response capacity to emergency situations, had the active participation of the Fire Department, Civil Defense, Santa Matilde Hospital and the El Dorado Amateur Radio Club.
This is how the Madrid Fire Brigade deployed its specialized fire extinguishing teams, working hard to control the flames and works to raise safety in the area.
In the same way, the Civil Defense assumed a fundamental role in the coordination of search and rescue operations. For their part, the Aeronautical Firefighters demonstrated their experience and skills by working closely with the Fire Department in extinguishing fires generated by the fictional aircraft crash. The effective coordination conducted by these specialized teams was a testimony of the importance of specific training to face situations in critical areas.
The crucial role assumed by the El Dorado Amateur Radio Club in communication facilitated the transmission of information among internal and external institutions, contributing to a faster and more efficient global response. This exercise not only served as an evaluation of the individual Resources of each institution, but in the same way as an opportunity to highlight the importance of comprehensive collaboration among internal and external institutions. The joint participation of Aeronautical Firefighters and Military Health further strengthened the global response to critical situations.
The coordination conducted by these institutions demonstrates the importance of interinstitutional preparedness and collaboration to work to enhance the safety and well-being of people in air emergency situations. This exercise reinforces the commitment of local and military institutions in their joint operation to face possible challenges and protect the life and physical wellbeing of the inhabitants.
