At the Facilities of the Caribbean Naval Museum, in Cartagena, an activity of taking a declaration, registry, characterization, accreditation and service fair began, aimed at members of the Military Forces, victims of the armed conflict and their families.
With the participation of Mrs. Marcela Giraldo Muñoz, Magistrate of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace – JEP, and Vice Admiral Hernando Enrique Mattos Dager, Commander of the Caribbean Naval Force, this activity was opened and from today, Tuesday, September 26 to Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m., will receive personnel of the Colombian Military Forces and the National Police, who will be able to tell their stories as victims in the macro case No.10 about non-amnesty behaviors committed by the former FARC-EP in the Colombian conflict.
The purpose of this activity is to bring members of the Military Forces and their families, who consider themselves hit by the conflict, to a space where they can exercise their right in the framework of compliance with Law 1448 of 2011 Victims and Historical Memory Law modified by Law 2078 of 2021; in order to work for reparation as a commitment of non-repetition to recognize their status as victims.
During these three days, the service of taking a statement will be provided at the Public Prosecutor's Office for the determination of inclusion of personnel and their families in the Single registry of Victims – RUV, and at the Unit for Comprehensive Assistance and Reparation to Victims - UARIV.
During the activity there is a space for victims and their families who wish to accredit themselves to the Special Jurisdictions for Peace - JEP, providing a vital space to know their state of vulnerability and activate the corresponding care route in each case.
This coordination of efforts conducted by the Military Forces and the Truth, Justice, Reparation and Non-Repetition System reflects the unwavering commitment to those men and women who have serve the homeland and its people.
