In recent hours, in a joint and combined operation conducted by military units of the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force and United States aircraft, it was possible to find 505 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that were being transported in the area of the Caribbean 95 nautical miles from San Andrés, on board a go fast boat that was destined for Central America.

The speed boat was found thanks to the coordinated operational synergy conducted by an aerial platform-JIATFS - of the United States Southern Command, a Rapid Reaction Unit of the San Andrés Coast Guard Station and a Horus aircraft of the Colombian Air Force which with their overflights led to guide the naval units to the speed boat.

A Rapid Reaction Unit went to the area and found and intercepted the suspicious ship 95 nautical miles off the coast of San Andrés. Which had no name or license plate and was manned by three individuals.

The military personnel moved the boat and its crew to the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés, where the Judicial Investigation Section –SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) - of the National Police, carried out the Preliminary Identification Test –PIPH-, reporting the finding of 505 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. The three arrested men, the boat, communications equipment and the illicit substance were given to the authorities.

With this result obtained from the joint work of the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Air Force, more than US $ 17 million stopped entering the drug trafficking earnings.
