The search and control operations carried out by the troops of the Tenerife Battalion of the Ninth Brigade in the rural area led to find and neutralize the threat posed by improvised explosive devices planted in Huila fields by the former illegal armed structures that were doing criminal work in this area of the department.
It is a gas cylinder loaded with rudimentary explosive substance that was found by soldiers in San Rafael, in the municipality Colombia, in the north of Huila.
Immediately the security protocols were activated and by the Marte Anti-Explosive Group of the Fifth Division who achieved the destruction of the cylinder loaded with approximately 30 kilos of explosive which would have a deadly damages area of 130 meters.
