Maritime operations framed in the frontal fight against illicit drug trafficking, carried out by the Colombian Navy in the Colombian Pacific, led to the finding of a shipment with more than half a ton of cocaine, when three individuals intended to take it from the national territory to Central American countries, aboard a ship. It is estimated that the finances of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 30, were hit at more than $ 16 million dollars.

This blow to drug trafficking was reported when Coast Guard units and a ship of the Pacific Naval Force, which were carrying out patrols for control, surveillance and security of the sea, detected three men sailing at high speeds aboard a lobster-type boat, ignoring the calls made and evading the operations; immediately the Colombian Navy Units began the maritime interception operation. After several minutes of pursuit, the boat was stopped at Pacífico Centro.

During the inspection, members of the Military Forces found 18 sacks containing 501 rectangular packages, as well as several barrels with 324 gallons of fuel and communications equipment.

The three individuals, along with the material and the boat, were taken to the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station where members of the Technical team of the Prosecutor's Office conducted the tests that left positive result for 501 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

With this finding, the Colombian Navy prevented 1,252,500 doses of cocaine from being illegally distributed and marketed in Central and North American countries.
