The Military Forces, together with the environment sector, have been conducted to work constantly on the conservation and protection of the natural heritage and promote a sustainable development model in the country.

In the framework of Operation Artemisa and in the course of joint and coordinated military operations, troops of the land and river component of the Joint Task Force Omega, with units of the National Police, found the charcoal that was stored in sacks and the wood processed in slats.

Men of the river Battalion No.32, troops of the Ground Operations Battalion no.7 and the Carabineros police of San José del Guaviare, through information provided by the Civic Participation Network, found 30 sacks of charcoal of approximately 10 kilograms each, in the village Puerto Colombia, municipality Puerto Concordia, Meta.

On the other hand, troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.31 and the Ground Operations Battalion No.3, through search and military control of the area, they find approximately 15 cubic meters of wood, which were in an illegal collection center found in the village El Venado, Municipality of Cartagena de Chairá, Caquetá.

The two cargoes were brought to the Environmental Authority of each region, as is Cormacarena and Corpoamazonia.
