The suspicious boat, a Go Fast, was timely detected by the Traffic Control and Maritime and River Surveillance Station four nautical miles northeast of the sea buoy, which immediately alerted a Rapid Reaction Unit-URR-of the Coast Guard Station of Cartagena already in the area and proceeded to start the pursuit. The military pressure exerted by the personnel on board the Coast Guard unit led the crew to find a beach and leave the ship; the individuals escaped.
The boat and the illegal goods were taken to the dock of the Coast Guard Station of Cartagena, where the detailed inspection began and units of the Anti-Narcotics Police of the Judicial Investigation Section, SIJIN (judicial police), of Cartagena carried out the preliminary identification test, which left positive result for cocaine hydrochloride. The cocaine was put into custody of Judicial police.
