The operation was possible by installing a checkpoint in the El Cedro village, in the municipality of Pitalito, in the department of Huila.

The operation conducted by units of the Infantry Battalion No.27 'Magdalena' of the Ninth Brigade, was reported after the installation of a checkpoint in which the stop signal was made to a truck and during the inquiry to the driver, he said he came from Cauca to Puerto Asís, in Putumayo, transporting 10 tons of cassava starch.
The inspection discovered 12 different sacs, specially colored, which made the soldiers to intensify the search, finding, in the middle of the starch sacks, 720 packages with an approximate weight of 790 kilos, loaded with marijuana.
The packages wrapped in brown tape, had marks, two types of symbols whose objective was to differentiate the final recipients of the cargo.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Marco Antonio Caicedo Girón, was captured. The 42-year-old man must face a judicial process for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics.
