The Colombian Air Force through the National Personnel Recovery Center will repatriate on a humanitarian flight an injured motorcyclist from Mexico

The Colombian Air Force through the National Personnel Recovery Center - CNRP, respond to the requirement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to repatriate the 16-year-old motorcyclist Wanda León Suárez, who suffered an accident while preparing to compete in the Italika Women's International Cup in the city of Monterrey, Mexico.

A King-350 ambulance aircraft of the Colombian Air Force will take off this Tuesday, July 23 from the Military Transport Air Command – CATAM, on the Bogotá-Monterrey route with a stopover in Guatemala. It will bring the young athlete back to his home city; the accident occurred last May 18.

With a crew and medical team specialized in this type of missions, the Colombian Air Force provides this young woman and her mother the possibility of returning to the country, to continue with their delicate recovery process.

The mission of aeromedical transfer will be approximately 8,000 kilometers in total and in the capital of the department of Tolima she will be received by her healthcare institution, which will provide the corresponding treatment. The flight is expected to land on July 24 at about 8 p.m. at Perales National Airport.

In this way, the Air Force constantly carries out humanitarian missions inside and outside the country supporting those who need it the most; In 2019, 588 aeromedical transfers have been made with the conviction that the closest thing to creating a life is to save it.
