1. On June 9, 2019, troops of the Caguán Specific Command, in the Malvinas sector, municipality of La Macarena, in the department of Meta, carried out a military operation, framed in the International Humanitarian Law, which aimed to neutralize the menaces posed by the operations of alias “Boyaco” and alias “El Mono”, ringleaders and members of the residual GAO structure 40, responsible for the terrorist operations in the urban areas of Uribe, La Julia, La Macarena, and San Juan de Lozada, in which the civilian population was hit and six men of the National Army were wounded, including a Major.
2. In the course of the military operation, at approximately 11:45 in the morning, the soldiers were attacked with rifle shots apparently by alleged members of the residual GAO Structure 40 who drove a motorcycle.
3. As a result of the confrontation an individual dies, it was the man who was driving the motorcycle.
4. When verifying the identity of the man the Judicial Police could verified that the individual was conducting the process of individual reincorporation, of dispersed population, since May 08, 2017, but for more than five months he had not contacted his liaison in the city of Florencia.
5. Given his condition of former member of the extinct Farc and that he was part of a reincorporation process, the protocols established with the Attorney General's Office were activated, guaranteeing autonomy of the investigations agency and access to the land and the inhabitants.
6. It is noteworthy that the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, through the Delegate for Citizens Security and the Director of the Special Unit of Investigation, by resolution, sent the Prosecutor 2 Delegate before the District Court, of the Special Unit of investigation, as support prosecutor to know the case and also the Prosecutor 147 delegated before the Municipal Judges as Prosecutor of support to the Prosecutor 2.
7. The military unit has guaranteed all the means required for judicial inspection in the field for the delegated group of the National Prosecutor's Office, noting that an armed contact took place in the zone, in accordance with the documentation and statements provided.
8. At this time, military operations in the area continue to be conducted against the members of the Residual Organized Armed Group, which do so much damage to the civilian population, through their terrorist acts and participation in illicit activities.
9. The Joint Task Force 'Omega', respectful of Human Rights and of the implementation of International Humanitarian Law, has put into custody of the authority all the documentation and resources available to facilitate the investigations processes.
