Offensive operations carried out by the Third Division and the Aviation Mobility and Maneuver Battalion No. 3 of the National Army, with the Colombian Air Force and coordinated with the National Police, framed in the Bicentennial Plan “Heroes de la Libertad” led to the death in development of military operations of two members of the organized armed group Pelusos and the capture of two more, in the municipality of Jamundí, in the department of Valle del Cauca.

Thanks to intelligence work, the troops came to the hamlet known as Cristales, where they engaged a firefight with a structure of the front “Andrey Peñaranda Ramírez,” of this GAO. The troops neutralized alias “Harry,” the group's main ringleader, and an individual identified as Carlos Pérez Durán, alias “Cristian.”

In the same way, it was possible to capture Yorban Ropero Robles Durán and Uriel Sánchez, the latter apparently was the financial chief of this structure. These two individuals, who were injured, received first aid of the combat nurse and were later taken to a health center in the city of Cali, in the helicopter Angel of the Colombian Air Force.

Once the place was secured, troops proceeded to search finding a machinegun, a galil rifle, an M-16 rifle, an AK-47 rifle, an M-79 grenade launcher, a Pietro Beretta pistol, 16 grenades caliber 40 millimeters, 26 magazines, 1432 cartridges of different calibers, a telescopic sight, a radio, three bracelets allusive to the GAO Pelusos, five uniforms of exclusive use of the Military Forces and $ 3'400.000 pesos in cash, material that was put into custody of the authorities.
