Technician chief Alejandro Arenas and second technician Jhon Mejía, organic NCOs of the Casanare Air Group, GACAS, in Yopal, in the department of Casanare are in Guatemala City, in Guatemala, conducting the basic maintenance course for the C-208 Caravan equipment for 17 students of the Air Force of that country. One of these students Cecilio Morales Chitamul stood out and he received a commemorative coin of the School of NCOs of the Colombian Air Force.
This cooperation was made by the USCAP group, for its acronym in English, United States Colombian Action Plan, which is a plan of the United States government as a method of support for Central America and the Caribbean, which is carried out by providing collaboration with aircrafts, technical support, advisory and technical training. For this, the capabilities of the Colombian Air Force are taken into account and are compatible with the needs of the allied countries in that region of the American continent.
The Colombian Air Force is a reference for this type of operations due to its organization, doctrine and training capacity it has carried out over the years; through continuous work, it has demonstrated experience, which is now valued in other countries.
The closing of this training is on Friday, February 22 and the students are pleased by the knowledge acquired through the course taught by the staff of the Colombian Air Institution, "it has been quite good, thanks to the conductance and learning we have had during these days, because they have instructed us about the different systems of the aircraft that will serve us when working with it" said the soldier José Alejandro Calderón, a military participant in the training.
