The mine clearance specialists of the National Army work in Puerto Concordia, Cubarral, Granada, Mesetas, Vista Hermosa and El Calvario, six municipalities in the department of Meta.

In tasks and humanitarian demining work carried out in rural areas of the municipalities of Mesetas and Vista Hermosa, in the department of Meta, soldiers of the Humanitarian Demining Engineers Battalion No.4, found four antipersonnel mines, so now the use of land and the transit of the inhabitants of Meta are possible.

The discovery of three explosive devices, took place in the village Los Alpes of the municipality of Mesetas, when soldiers intervened an abandoned road, classified as dangerous.

Subsequently, the information provided by an inhabitant of the hamlet Puerto Esperanza of the municipality of Vista Hermosa, facilitated that members of the Non-Technical Studies teams destroyed an antipersonnel mine, carrying out the respective security protocols.

According to the information of the residents, when in the past they could walk freely on their land, they spent five hours to get to the municipality of La Uribe, however, when armed groups mined the area, they had to move along the road, using eight hours to move their agricultural products to that municipality.

The destructions of the explosive devices reflect the efficient work of the mine clearance specialists and leaders deployed in that region, contributing to the development and productivity of the field, positively improving the living conditions of the inhabitants.

The mine clearance specialists continue to conduct their operations so that the population can move without fear of becoming victims of antipersonnel mines.
