In a joint operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force and the National Navy coordinated with the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, in the framework of the Military Strategic Plan of Stabilization and Consolidation Victoria Plus against Transnational Organized Crime, a surveillance aircraft and recognition identified a merchant ship that was contaminated to transport a shipment of cocaine hydrochloride.
The Air Combat No 3 plane has special equipment to detect this type of motorboats, it reported a ship, which, in this specific case, came from Cartagena, and had been contaminated with the alkaloid by two go fast boats. It informed immediately the coordinates to the National Navy.
During the search of the Singaporean ship, 15 people, who allegedly participated in the illegal operation were found by troops. They were already put into custody of the judicial authorities. In the same way, the 1,277 kilograms of substance were examined and they turned out to be cocaine hydrochloride.
