Four people arrested, two minors recovered, the finding of war materiel and military accessories is the result of the military operation.
Within the framework of a joint operation conducted by Colombian National Army and the Air Force, coordinated with the National Police and inter-institutional with the Attorney General's Office, the criminal operations of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 33, were dealt with a powerful operation.
In compliance with the judicial order issued for crimes such as firearms trafficking, forced displacement and extortion, the raids were carried out in the village of Cinuga, of Ocaña, Department of Norte de Santander, where 4 members of the GAO-r E33 were arrested, including alias Yair, second ringleader of the Ernesto Galvis group, in charge of handling the money of the illegal armed structure, and alias Cristian, considered the main perpetrator of the extortions in the Department of Norte de Santander, specialized in intimidating and threatening inhabitants in different municipalities of the department.
In the same operation, two minors were recovered and handed over to the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute (ICBF), in order to re-establish their rights; in addition, it was possible to find handguns, rudimentary weapons, magazines, cartridges of different calibers, communications equipment and military accessories.
This operation significantly hits the finances of the residual organized armed group, which will no longer receive money as a result of the extortions they committed against the inhabitants of the province of Ocaña in exchange for not attacking the victims.
