More than 2,600 people were arrested, of which 2,046 were in flagrante delicto and 621 with a court order for the crimes of homicide, kidnapping, extortion, theft, illegal carrying of weapons, drug trafficking and association to commit crimes.

Stolen cell phones and cars were returned to their owners as part of this plan.

At a press meeting, the Minister of Defense, Iván Velásquez, together with the director of the National Police, General William René Salamanca, presented the results achieved during the first week of the Action Plan 360, which seeks to improve citizen security throughout the national territory.

First of all, Minister Velásquez announced that, in conjunction with the National Army, and the Attorney General's Office, the Police arrested 17 members of the criminal organization La Inmaculada, in the same way known as La Oficina, which has been responsible for 90% of the homicides that have been reported in Tuluá this year.

“In the course of this operation, 10 of its members were notified of the judicial decision in the prisons where they are, which means that they have new proceedings against them for this reason. Among those notified are the ringleaders, alias El Enano and Valentine, trusted men of the man known as Pipe.”

These arrests are complemented by the arrests of alias Chucky, Picante and Cañas, the latter a patrolman and traffic agent, who use his position to obtain and supply privileged information to the criminal organization to profile the victims.

In this regard, the head of the Ministry of Defense pointed out that in the 45 operations that were carried out during the first week of the Action Plan 360, 8 were carried out against homicide, 10 against theft in its various forms, 5 against extortion and 22 against drug trafficking.

For his part, the director of the Police announced the dismantling of the group known as Los Ofices with the arrest of 9 individuals accused of homicide and association to commit crimes in the department of Cauca. In the same way was arrested the individual alias H, urban ringleader of the GAO-r Carlos Patiño, allegedly responsible for multiple homicides in Cauca.

In the same way, in another operation together with the National Army, more than 3 thousand kilos of marijuana were found by troops in this department.

Finally, it was announced that in Ibagué the gang organized as Los Rayos, who used minors for the marketing of narcotics, was dismantled, and also in an operation against cyber extortion, five women were arrested who contacted their victims on private adult pages and extorted them asking for large sums of money.

With this Plan, the collaboration of citizens is in the same way expected to continue showing concrete results, not only of arrests, but in the same way of microfocusing to implement preventive and reactive operations on the part of the National Police.
