Apparently, these individuals would be behind the recent terrorist attacks and extortions against merchants and transporters on the road that contacts with the main port of the Colombian Pacific.
In the year 2025, the Naval Institution in Buenaventura, has reported the arrest of 11 alleged members of this gang.
Within the framework of a coordinated operation with the National Police, the Colombian Navy reported the finding of war material and the arrest in flagrante delicto of five alleged members of the Luis Carlos C谩rdenas Arbel谩ez front of the Organized Armed Group -GAO- ELN, who, apparently, would be responsible for the latest terrorist attacks perpetrated on the main road leading to the municipality of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
Troops of the Military GAULA (ANTI-EXTORTION AND ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP) of Buenaventura and members of the Military Forces of the Police, arrived in the village Los C贸rdobas, rural area of the Special District, where a search warrant was made effective to five buildings. During the procedure, five individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto, who had in their possession four firearms, three rudimentary grenades, three rifle magazines and 24 cartridges of various calibers; as well as military accessory material, four packages and 59 doses of different shapes and sizes, which, by their characteristics, would be illicit substances.
According to preliminary investigations, it was established that this criminal structure would be responsible for committing terrorist attacks against the inhabitants, as well as extortion and threats against merchants, transporters, gas stations and parking lots.
Those arrested and the material found were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for the alleged crimes of trafficking, manufacture, carrying or possession of narcotics and firearms, in accordance with the Colombian Criminal Code.
In the year 2025, the Naval Institution in Buenaventura, has reported the arrest of 11 alleged members of the GAO ELN, which represents a serious blow to this criminal organization, weakening the drug trafficking chains and their illicit activities and criminal control in the region.
