In the department of Vichada, the Colombian Navy supports the repatriation of seven Colombians

En vichada, Armada de Colombia apoya repatriación de siete colombianos

Units of the 51st Navy Infantry River Battalion and the Coast Guard Station of Puerto Carreño accompanied the transfer.

The Colombian Navy, in coordination with Migración Colombia and other state institutions, carried out the transfer of seven Colombians, who would have been in custody, weeks ago, by the Venezuelan authorities.

The Naval Institution sent river means to carry out the transportation of these people, from the meeting point arranged with the authorities of the neighboring country, on the Orinoco River, to the main pier of Puerto Carreño.

During the process, the navy crew members provided medical assistance and accompaniment to the Colombian citizens, working for their good physical condition and safety along the way. In the same way, the respective coordination was carried out with the Mayors of Inírida and Puerto Carreño, as well as the Ombudsman's Office, the Government of Guainía, Migración Colombia and National Civil Registry office General de la Nation, to provide them with the assistance, in the frame of their arrival in the country.
