Its finding led to safeguarding the good physical condition of the inhabitants and the soldiers in this municipality of Catatumbo.
Within the framework of Operation Catatumbo, soldiers of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats (CONAT) found and destroyed in controlled conditions an illegal hideout with explosive and war material in the village KM 28, municipality of Tibú, Department of Norte de Santander.
The troops found eight means of parabolic launch for tatuco-type explosive devices and a large amount of ammunition, apparently belonging to the Luis Enrique León Guerra Front, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
In addition, 64 PVC tatuco-type grenades, 20 rudimentary electric detonators, 25 tubes, 40 jars with black powder, 2 15-gallon plastic barrels with black powder, 4 rolls of two wire cable, 4895 7.62 mm caliber cartridges and 2 ICOM radios were found by troops.
By means of this operation, these devices will not be used in terrorist attacks against the inhabitants and the troops in the region.
Colombian National Army is constant in its Operation Catatumbo in the Department of Norte de Santander, with the aim of neutralizing the factors of instability that generate violence in this area of the country.
