Within the framework of a military operation, a camp area was found and the demobilization of two individuals was possible. On the other hand, it was an occasion to see the pressure exerted by the individuals on Afro-descendant and indigenous communities, which are being used as human shields.
In a coordinated and interinstitutional operation conducted by Colombian National Army, the Aerospace Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, carried out in the rural area of the municipality of Lloró, department of Chocó, it was possible to obtain a powerful result of the military operation against the Manuel Hernández El Boche Front, of the organized armed group, GAO, ELN.
During the military operation, the troops found a camp area used by this criminal structure, in which the voluntary demobilization of two of its members took place.
Jhon Fredy Hinestroza, alias El Flaco or Junior, and Cristian Martínez were identified, during the operation, they fled the place. According to intelligence information, these individuals would be the alleged perpetrators of the homicide of a collective passenger transport driver, which occurred on June 4, 2025, in the urban area of Lloró, a homicide that caused great rejection among the local people.
In addition, war and communication equipment belonging to the GAO was found in the place, among this material there were 4 shotguns, 2 handguns, 2 holographic sights, 2 radios, 2 drones, 3 broadcasting amplifiers, an power generator, 300 meters of safety fuse, tactical sweater and hammocks, whose finding weakens the logistical resources and military operations.
A clandestine radio station was in the same way found in operation, along with pamphlets, used by the GAO ELN to disseminate revolutionary ideological propaganda and carry out forced recruitment activities of minors, which represents a serious violation of human rights and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
During the operation, the military units confronted the typical dangers of areas with the presence of subversives, such as improvised explosive devices (anti-personnel mines), one of which hit a soldier in one leg. The soldier was immediately assisted by the combat nurse and the health team, and was evacuated to receive specialized medical assistance.
In the same way, it is evident once again how the GAO ELN uses violent methods that put the inhabitants at risk, using the Afro-descendant and indigenous communities as human shields, and, in this way, prevent military operations by the Military Forces. In the same way, restricting freedom and sowing terror through acts of armed proselytism, selective killings and indiscriminate attacks.
