In the framework of the military operation it was possible the death in the course of military operations of an individual who had participated in the murder of two soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N掳 33 Batalla de Jun铆n, perpetrated last May.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Sin煤, under the direction of the Eleventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Criminal and Judicial Investigation Section of the National Police, fought against the Javier Yepes Cantero Substructure, of the organized armed group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, in the rural area of the municipality of Ci茅naga de Oro, department of C贸rdoba.
The incident was reported in the village of Campo Nuevo, where members of the Military Forces were attacked with riflefire while carrying out search procedures on two buildings.
Immediately, the military and police personnel reacted in self-defense and in response to the attack, which resulted in the death in the course of military operations of an alleged member of this criminal organization known as alias Pala, and the finding of a long-range weapon, a revolver, more than 80 cartridges of different calibers, magazines, 3 communication radios, 2 cell phones and 2 pixelated hammocks.
According to preliminary information, alias Pala would have spent approximately three years in this armed group, and was currently serving as the second urban and rural ringleader of the illegal substructure in the aforementioned municipality, where he would be in charge of collecting money from extortions and homicides.
This individual would be under the command of alias Matias, the main ringleader in the sector, who allegedly ordered the murder of police officer Aldair Durango, perpetrated on April 24 of this year during the so-called pistol plan of this criminal organization.
Additionally, it was learned that alias Pala would be linked to the murder of two specialist soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N掳 33 Batalla de Jun铆n, in events that occurred on May 5, 2025, in a rural area of the municipality of Buenavista, department of C贸rdoba.
Through this result, the criminal intentions of the Javier Yepes Cantero Substructure are countered, a group which has become one of the main generators of criminal operations against the Military Forces and inhabitants of the Cordoba region.
