In a heartfelt tribute to the men and women of the Military Forces and the National Police who died for the defense, security and coexistence of every Colombian, the Minister of Defense, Pedro Sánchez Suárez, accompanied by the top commanders of the Military Forces, made a wreath laying ceremony in front of the memorial of the Heroes Fallen of Bogotá.
During the ceremony in which a respectful minute of silence took place for the heroes who departed in fulfillment of their constitutional duty, the national tricolor flew at half mast, as a respectful greeting in the framework of the Day of Heroes and their Families.
This wreath laying ceremony is made as the opening of the activities and ceremonies of the patriotic month, in which the heroic deeds of the men of the Military Forces are remembered who, with their oath to the uniforms of the homeland, committed themselves to the defense and ideals of freedom and justice for every citizen.
Starting today and until next July 20, Independence Day, the flags of Colombia will remain at half-mast in every military and police unit throughout the national territory.
