During his visit to the city of Cartagena, the minister of Defense, Diego Molano, highlighted a decisive heavy blow by the National Police, with the neutralization of alias Cholo, in the municipality of Las Pozas in San Marcos, Sucre.
Alias Cholo would be behind the murder of five people, in the municipality Viloria, in Sucre, on October 24, 2020.
"In an operation carried out by our police, alias El Cholo, one of the worst criminals of the GAO Clan del Golfo structure, and responsible for the massacre of five inhabitants of Sucre, last October, has been neutralized,” the minister explained.
In addition, he had a criminal experience of 10 years in the criminal organization, where he held the positions of head urban, military ringleader, targeted killings, collection of money from extortion, which ranged by 100 thousand and 10 million pesos a month against the people in the areas of interference.
In the middle of the operation against alias Cholo, it was possible to arrest 10 alleged members of Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in Bogotá, and in the municipalities of Caucasia, Nechí, San Benito Abad, San Marcos, Sucre, and in the municipality of Buena Vista in San Marcos.
In his statement, the head of the Ministry of Defense, in the same way made a heavy warning to the Clan del Golfo: "here in Colombia, in Cartagena we tell the Clan del Golfo, all its structures, all criminals, that in Colombia crime does not pay," Molano said.
