In the Casa de Nariño, the President of the Republic, Iván Duque Márquez, presided over the ceremony of installation of the first Council of Veterans of the Military Forces, an instance of dialogue, interaction, consultation, discussion, deliberation, participation, and proposition, unique and unprecedented, that comes after presidential approval in October of 2020, the Act 1979 of 2019, which recognizes, honors and grants benefits to the veterans of the Military Forces.
About 15 years completed the Veterans of the Military Forces seeking to create through different work tables, a legal instance like this, to improve dialogue, interaction and discussion of issues related to this sector of society.
The Veterans Council, where all ranks and forces are represented, has the great challenge of opening spaces for participation and dialogue with Veterans of the Military Forces and channeling needs and policies through the Inter-sector Group for Comprehensive care for Veterans.
